I am back in full swing teaching at four different schools. The classes range from ten students to over twenty in a couple of the classes. A good crowd of kids for each week!
I didn't tell you about the class graduations last session. The class with the Kindergartners was fun. I have never allowed Kinders in my classes before. They just can't learn anything that takes much skill. (I take that back. When I was in Kindergarten a girl in my class could play "Flight of the Bumblebees" on the piano.) In a class situation it takes away too much from the other students to teach skill tricks to Kinders. With that said, I REALLY liked their enthusiasm and excitement each time they saw me in class. =) It melted my heart...
Again, everyone graduated by coming to the front of the class and reciting the three rules of magic. This is a little intimidating to some of the kids. They worry they will not remember the rules and not receive their wands. Some kids have to go sit down, listen to others say them and try again. So far all have passed. 100% Yea!
So I'll get going on giving tips for classes as I go along. I love kicking off the first class with optical illusions and the kids love them too. I use large versions so they can be seen easily. By the time Optical Illusion Day rolls around the kids are primed and ready for getting their little versions of them. One of my teachers mentioned how much the girls in her classes loved the business sized illusion cards. She said they liked "collecting" them. I never thought of them like that but maybe will start promoting them like Baseball Cards.
Okay, enough for today!
